Sophisticated interiors
to enhance your lifestyle

Averil Blundell’s studio inhabits an early-20th century Dutch barn – a custom-made space that embodies her design ethic. Averil creates highly-functional and comfortable spaces around a client’s lifestyle using classic materials for timeless appeal. Her schemes enhance the architecture of a room and appear to have evolved over time.

Every project is unique, marrying her client’s needs and personality with the essence of their architecture and natural surroundings. Heading up a small team in her Yorkshire studio, Averil personally oversees every project.

Averil is as comfortable working on a new-build as she is on a listed building. She works hand-in-hand with clients to explore, develop and realise the potential of their space.

About Averil

Averil read History of Art at University College London and studied Interior Design at KLC School of Design. She spent four years working for Nina Campbell before founding her own practice in 2012.

Averil creates schemes that are classic yet current, with a dash of English wit. A quiet grandeur underpins her work, as does an emphasis on intimacy and comfort; Averil likes nothing more than to create a sense of home.

She owns several horses with her husband Jamie Gornall, an international show jumper, and has three miniature dachshunds. She is often to be found browsing antique shops and fairs, finding inspiration for commissions and collecting pieces for her clients’ homes.
